Orienteering presented at India National Sport Day

Last 29th August Park World Tour was honoured to be present at the celebration of India National Sport Day.

The Dhyanchand Foundation organised a celebration at the Dhyan Chand National Stadium, New Delhi. The event, dedicated to honoring the legacy of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, was attended by a host of sports celebrities, business personalities, and dignitaries.

On that day, Giulia Zenere, Park World Tour Academy Project manager, presented the sport of orienteering in India, in front of a large number of sport people dignitaries.
Jaroslav Kacmarcik, IOF Global Development Commission, was actively present and supervising the demonstration of orienteering held in the stadium.

Shri Manoj Tiwari, Member of Parliament, listened carefully and saw the potential of the sport in India, being orienteering a sport which can be played almost anywhere and with no need of infrastructures or special equipments, and can be played at any age, it is very much suitable to a large scale of Indians also in the rural areas.

We as PWT are deeply grateful to Shri Gaurav Singh, President of the Dhyanchand Foundation, for all his efforts in developing orienteering in India, together with the former international umpire Kishori Lal Azad, Sanjeev Pandey from SBI and Vivek Singh, General Secretary Dhyanchand Foundation .
